OUR MASCOT: THE HODJA
Incirlik American High School's mascot is the Hodja. We have chosen this mascot because Nesreddin Hodja is one of the most loved and celebrated personalities in Turkey and the Middle East. It is believed that he was born in 1208 in Horto, a small village in Turkey. Even as a child he was reputed to be very wise and humorous. He seemed to have an answer for every situation that was not only comical but also had a note of encouragement. It is said that he brought joy and happiness to many during their lives. We believe that the Hodja’s ability to bring wisdom and joy to others makes him a fitting mascot for our school.
This website was created for the reunion of people who attended Incirlik HS, Incirlik AB Turkey and their families. Even though we already had our reunion in August 2004, we will keep this website open to keep everyone in touch and updated on more reunion information. Most people on this website attended IHS during the early 1990s to 2001/2. If you are looking for someone, please refer to THE LIST on the left. We want to have another reunion but actual planning is not in the works just yet. Our guess is that it probably won't happen for another 5 years since the last one took over a year to plan. Please feel free to post pictures of your "between-years" reunions in the yahoo album. This website is updated with information quite often so make sure you check back.

The 2004 Reunion was a blast! Thank you to all the planners - Hanim, Natalie, Cheryl, Marissa, and D'Anna. Everyone had a great time in Vegas. Hard Rock was an awesome hotel to have it at. It was great seeing old friends, making new ones, and even meeting the new family additions. If you have any questions, please feel free to ask.VIDEOS! Reunion DVD The Sappington's (Hanim and Jonas) filmed quite a bit of the reunion and are in the works of producing an Incirlik Reunion 2004 in Vegas DVD. The DVD will probably be between $5 and $10---we will figure out the cost of the DVD and shipping as soon as possible and let everyone know. Hanim and Jonas had planned to have the DVD out to everyone around Christmas time but it's taking longer than expected. We'll keep you updated here. Please let Hanim (hanimc@yahoo.com) know if you're interested in buying one. You can buy one even if you weren't there. :) The reunion DVD has been put on hold. Our apologies for those of you who are waiting to see it. Check out Courtney's video clips on his website www.datathoughts.com in the meantime.
